Although this word exists in Spanish, it does not have the same meaning. In Galicia, a 'galopín' is a boy who plays pranks or commits small deceptions with cunning and skill, but without malice. The term is used to describe children who are mischievous, clever, quick-witted and shameless.
'O Galopín', also known as 'O voso galo', is a traditional Galician humorous song with great popular appeal.
The lyrics and musical composition are both of unknown authorship, and the song is one of the most frequently performed works in the Spanish choral repertoire. It is usually performed in M. Groba's arrangement for four voices.
I don't think there is a single Galician who does not know the chorus:
"Para vir a xunta min, vai lava-la cara, galopín".
